Ron Lowy graduated Eastern Connecticut State University with a
degree in Business Management. His experience thereafter
included commercial steel sales, radio advertising, and
custom publishing before joining AT&T has a brand marketing
specialist.
Lowy's expertise in strategic planning across multiple
marketing platforms has resulted in demonstrated success for
clients the past 17 years. He is the former Publisher of two
of the largest consumer titles in the Great Lakes region, as
well as the former Group Publisher of the Green Industry BtoB division of GIE Media, Inc. In that role, his
publications garnered the #1 market share in their
respective industry segments.
A movie buff, Ron served as the Marketing Chairperson for
the Cleveland International Film Festival and is also active
in a number of sports. He and his wife Kelly have two
children, Lindsay and Chase.
Michael Madej directs all eMedia sales and
marketing activities for the IndustryWeek brand. He
leads IW's webcast product line, and is also responsible for
developing new interactive products within the IndustryWeek
portfolio.
A summa cum laude graduate of
Baldwin-Wallace College's Honors Program, Madej holds a
bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis
in marketing. He earned his MBA from Cleveland State
University's James J. Nance College of Business
Administration. In April 2003, Madej was one of the first 162
MBAs worldwide to earn the Certified MBA
designation.
Madej began his work with the IndustryWeek
Web team in 2000. In his spare time he and his wife
Michele volunteer for their church's teen group. He
also enjoys playing golf and softball.
Jonathan
Burger develops online advertising programs for IndustryWeek
clients, coordinates eMedia marketing programs, and is the
primary contact for IW's suite of research and information
products.
Burger is a graduate of the Fisher College of Business
at The Ohio State University with a concentration in marketing
management and a consulting minor. He was a marketing team
leader for Fisher Professional Services (a student-run
consulting group) and consulted for PMG Communications on
digital media distribution. In addition, he was a member of
the MBA Association and the MBA Marketing Association.
Burger's work experience includes an internship at McGraw-Hill
as a Direct/Digital Marketing intern. Prior to this, he was a
general manager at Aquarium Adventure from 1997 to 2002.
Lauren Carroll manages all in-person IndustryWeek events
such as the IW Best Plants Conference.
Carroll is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College with
concentrations in business administration, marketing and
communications. She has experience planning many types of
events primarily within the manufacturing sector, including
events for Alcoa Inc. - Cleveland Works and Precision Metalforming Association.
Jim Cowart manages and develops circulation files to ensure
individuals in key manufacturing segments are offered the
opportunity to subscribe to IndustryWeek, and he assists other staff
members to ensure timely delivery of the publication and to
accurately select subscribers for ongoing marketing efforts. He also
manages circulation lists for other Penton publications including:
New Equipment Digest, Occupational Hazards, Government Product News
and Government Procurement.
Cowart is a graduate of Knox College (Galesburg, IL) with a major in
International Relations/Political Science, and he studied abroad in
Berlin, Germany at Humboldt University. Currently, he is enrolled in
an MBA program at Baker University in Overland Park, KS.
Prior to joining IndustryWeek in April 2007, Cowart worked in
circulation management roles for three years with Intertec and Prism
Business Media. From 1998 to 2003, he worked in auditing and
management positions at BPA Worldwide, which is often recognized as
the leading audit bureau in verifying accuracy of circulation claims
in the marketplace.
Frank Chloupek directs the technical and presentation aspects of IndustryWeek's Web site, enewsletters, and online products. He is also involved in the development and execution of new interactive products within the IndustryWeek portfolio.
Chloupek is a summa cum laude graduate of Michigan State University, and received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1998. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and served as the President of Ohio State's Council of Graduate Students.
Prior to joining IndustryWeek in May 2000, Chloupek was a Web Designer and Technical Communicator for several Cleveland-area consulting firms. He maintains a blog, Eye On eMedia, focusing on developments and trends in interactive media. He is also convinced that this is the year the Cubs will finally recapture the World Series.
Steve Porter is the eMedia Advertising
Coordinator for the award-winning IndustryWeek.com website. He
works with clients to help start and run their advertising
campaigns smoothly and effectively. He also works behind the
scenes in IndustryWeek's webcast projects, and helps manage
the IW Manufacturing Business Challenge custom e-newsletter.
A graduate of Malone College, Porter brings a background in
digital publishing and online content management, and has
worked with publishers such as McGraw-Hill, Harper Collins and
Random House. In his spare time, he enjoys anything related to
sports, and is always up for a competitive game of volleyball.
Molly Parsons is a graphic artist for Penton Media. She designs
marketing materials for IndustryWeek, as well as its sister
publications American Machinist, Material Handling Management,
Welding and Gases, Logistics Today, and Foundry.
Parsons' work experience includes positions in the art
departments of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and The Palm Beach Post,
in West Palm Beach, Fla. She started with Penton Media in July
2007.
Parsons is a graduate of the School of Journalism and Mass
Communication from Kent State University with a degree in
Information Design.
After exploring physics and philosophy majors, Emily Troia
graduated magna cum laude with a double degree in graphic design and
studio art from Ursuline College. As IndustryWeek's marketing
manager, Troia uses her background in analytical and creative
thinking to dream up big ideas with concrete strategies.
Troia spent five years in the medical equipment, manufacturing
industry as the clinical graphics marketing manager for Codonics,
Inc. In this role, she especially enjoyed working with and
learning from the international sales team.
Her drawing, photography, ceramics, painting, poetry and graphics
work have been shown in several galleries around the state of Ohio.
